Baritone Will Present Virtual Recital At Ripon College
13 March 2021 News
RIPON — Baritone Jonathan Km, adjunct instructor of music, will present a virtual recital as part of the Chamber Music at Ripon series of Ripon College.
The performance will be recorded in Demmer Recital Hall, C.J. Rodman Center for the Arts. Because the hall remains closed to live audiences this semester, the recital will be streamed at ripon.edu/live-events so that campus and community alike can still engage with this artistic tradition. It will be available for viewing starting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 25.
The accompanist will be pianist Deb Mackenzie, adjunct instructor of music.
The program includes “Three Songs,” by Samuel Barber; “Warm as the Autumn Light,” from “The Ballad of Baby Doe,” by Douglas Moore; “L’heure exquise,” by Reynaldo Hahn; “Avant de quitter des lieux,” from “Faust,” by Charles Gounod; “Liederkreis,” by Robert Schumann; and “Granada,” by Augustin Lara.
Kim conducts Chamber Singers and Choral Union at Ripon College. He has conducted choirs and orchestras from the collegiate level to a Grammy-nominated professional choir, True Concord: Voices & Orchestra, based in Tucson. He has conducted internationally, such as St. Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican, and the State Opera House in Stara Zagora in Bulgaria.
He is an active singer, and has been a soloist with numerous ensembles around the country.
