Wisconsin saw an increase in new COVID-19 cases Thursday, but the 677 new cases were only 14 percent of the 4,826 test results that came back. The state’s Department of Health Services says there were fewer deaths reported yesterday with 12 lives claimed putting the death toll at 6,470 people since the pandemic began. The 7-day average of 11 deaths per day is the lowest since last October 8th. Fifty-one people were hospitalized with the coronavirus. The Wisconsin Hospital Association says there were 262 COVID-19 patients in the state’s hospitals with 67 of them in intensive care units.
Winnebago County reported 27 new COVID-19 cases Thursday. Fond du Lac County recorded 3 more deaths and 10 new cases and Dodge County had 12 new cases. Two new cases were reported in Green Lake County and no new cases in Marquette County. Waupaca County reported 3 new cases and the Waushara County Health Department recorded 1 death and 5 new coronavirus cases.
