After two days of seeing no deaths due to COVID-19 state health officials reported 33 deaths on Tuesday. That brought the death toll to 6,317 since the first deaths were reported last March. But there was some good news too as the Department of Health Service reported 815,516 state residents have received at least one dose of the COVID vaccine and 366,096 people have gotten both doses to complete their vaccinations. The state also reported 566 new cases of the coronavirus or about 16 percent of the 3,553 test results that came back. New cases were reported in 59 of the state’s 72 counties.
Winnebago County reported 11 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday as it nears 17,000 cases since the pandemic began. Seventeen new cases were reported in Fond du Lac County and Dodge County had no new cases. Two new cases were recorded in Green Lake County and no new cases in Marquette County. Waupaca County reported no new cases and the Waushara County Health Department had 2 new cases.
