The tenth day of the sturgeon spearing season Monday saw only 24 fish harvested on Lake Winnebago, the lowest daily total of the season. The Department of Natural Resources now anticipates the season will go the full 16 days. The 1,226 fish harvested on Lake Winnebago is the most since the 2015 season, which lasted 10 days with a total harvest on Lake Winnebago of 1,870 fish. The largest fish taken yesterday was speared by Jason Hammel whose sturgeon weighed 97.5 pounds and was 72 inches in length.
