State Superintendent Of Schools Race

Wisconsin voters yesterday narrowed the field of candidates running for the State Superintendent of Schools post from seven to two. Jill Underly received 88,703 or 27 percent of all votes cast in the race and Deborah Kerr got 86,045 or 26 percent of the vote. Underly is the Pecatonica Area School District superintendent and Kerr is the former superintendent of the Brown Deer schools. It was the only statewide contest on the ballot.

FDL County Judge Race

Green Lake County District Attorney Andrew Christianson and Laura Lavey a lawyer that specializes in civil litigation will face each other April 6th for a seat on the Fond du Lac County bench. Christianson got 3,419 votes and Lavey 2,408 in the race for Judge for Circuit Court Branch 3. Finishing out of the running with 1,300 votes was Fond du Lac County Assistant District Attorney Catherine Block and Attorney Dawn Sabel with 1,210 votes.

Oshkosh Election Races

Lori Palmeri and Kris Larson will face each other in April for the Oshkosh Mayor’s seat. They received the most votes Tuesday in a field of four candidates. Palmeri collected 1,774 votes and Larson 946. Deb Allison-Aasby (843 votes) and Robert E. Wilcox (435) finished out of the running.

Winners in the Oshkosh Common Council race were Aaron Wojciechowski with 1,568 votes, Jake Krause with 1,461votes and Lateria Garret with 1,456 votes. Six others did not receive enough votes.

State Senate District 13 Republican Primary

John Jagler won the Republican primary election for the State Senate District 13 seat. The Assemblyman for the 37th District defeated Don Pridemore and Todd Menzel for the seat Scott Fitzgerald left when he was voted into Congress. Jagler will face Democrat Melissa Winker and Independent candidates Spencer Zimmerman and Ben Schmitz in the April 6th Spring Election.
