RIPON — “Good Trouble: Six Life Lessons from a Civil Rights Leader,” about the philosophy of politician and civil rights activist John Lewis, will be presented via Zoom from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18. The Zoom ID is 946 9048 7174.
Lewis (1940-2020) was an American civil rights leader and politician best-known for his chairmanship of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) and for leading the march that was halted by police violence on the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama, in 1965.
He served in the United States House of Representatives for Georgia’s 5th congressional district from 1987 until his death in 2020.
The event is sponsored by the Center for Diversity and Inclusion, Black Student Union and the Diversity Coalition.
