State health officials reported 681 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday or 16.3 percent of the 4,168 tests that came back. For the first time since September 11th the 7-day average for new cases fell below 1,000 to 970 cases. But the news wasn’t all good as 39 more deaths were reported bringing the death toll from the coronavirus in the state to 6,094. Meanwhile the total number of people hospitalized since the pandemic began surpassed another milestone reaching 25,021. Tuesday 102 more people were hospitalized. The Wisconsin Hospital Association reports 525 COVID-19 patients in the state’s hospitals with 133 in intensive care.

Sixteen new COVID-19 cases were reported in Winnebago County Tuesday. Fond du Lac County recorded 18 new cases and Dodge County had 15 new cases. Three new cases were reported in Green Lake County while Marquette County had no new cases. Waupaca and Waushara counties both reported 9 new cases of the coronavirus each.
