For the first time since December 26th the positivity rate for new coronavirus cases dipped below 20 percent. State health officials reported 1,119 new COVID-19 cases Sunday or 17.7 percent of the 6,331 test results that came back. The 7-day average for new cases also continued to drop and is currently at 1,597. Six new deaths were reported bringing the death toll in the state from COVID to 5,691 people. The state also reported 67 hospitalizations. The Wisconsin Hospital Association Sunday reported 761 hospitalizations with 169 of those patients in ICU.
Winnebago County reported 33 new COVID-19 cases Sunday. Fond du Lac County had 1 new case and Dodge County recorded 10 new cases. Green Lake County had 1 new cases and Marquette County had 2. Waupaca County reported 11 new COVID cases and Waushara County had 5 new cases of coronavirus.
