The state’s Department of Health Services says 1,083 new COVID-19 cases were reported Monday or 21 percent of the 5,132 latest test results that came back. It’s the third fewest cases in the past month and the lowest total for a non-holiday period since 771 cases were reported on September 14th. Nineteen more deaths were reported bringing the death toll to 5,470 people in the state. Fifty-four more people were hospitalized. The Wisconsin Hospital Association yesterday reported 875 people are hospitalized with the coronavirus and 209 of those patients are in ICU.
Winnebago County reported 26 new COVID-19 cases Monday. Fond du Lac County had 144 new cases since last Friday and Dodge County had 55 new cases over the weekend. Green Lake and Marquette counties both reported 1 new case each. Waupaca County recorded 8 new cases and 1 new death. The Waushara County Health Department reported 13 new cases since last Friday and 1 more death.
