Wisconsin Republican Congressmen Vote Against Impeachment Of President Trump
14 January 2021 News
None of Wisconsin’s Republican Congressmen voted to impeach President Trump a second time. All five voted against impeaching the President while all three Democratic House members from Wisconsin voted in favor of impeachment. Republican Congressman Glenn Grothman (pictured) issued a statement after the vote saying in part, “Once again, House Democrats, many of whom are my friends, took to the House floor to claim that the riots in Washington, DC, last week were explicitly caused by President Trump. Some of the rhetoric they point to was typical political hyperbole and nothing that I have ever seen cause a riot.” An impeachment trial in the U.S. Senate is likely to happen after the inauguration of President-elect Biden.
