The Wisconsin Department of Health Services says nearly half of the new test result for COVID-19 Tuesday came back positive. Forty-eight percent of the 7,299 test results or 3,501 of them tested positive for the coronavirus. New cases were reported in 71 of the state’s 72 counties. There were also 54 more deaths bringing the death toll since the pandemic began to 4,122. State health officials also reported 184 new hospitalizations with the number of patients hospitalized due to COVID decreasing slightly to 1,461 with 331 of those people in ICU.
Winnebago County reported 61 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday. Fond du Lac County recorded 73 new cases and Dodge County had 27 new cases and 3 more deaths. A dozen new cases were reported in Green Lake County and 2 new cases in Marquette County. No new cases were reported in Waupaca County while the Waushara County Health Department saw 9 new cases.
