Christmas Gatherings Should Also Be Limited Due To COVID
Ripon Community COVID-19 Task Force member Jeff Puhlmann-Becker says fortunately we didn’t see much of a spike after the Thanksgiving holiday for new coronavirus cases. Numbers lately were trending down, but so were the number of new tests. He says just the same it’s encouraging, but now we have to make sure we live by the same restrictions for Christmas and New Year’s gatherings. “Honestly we got done we Thanksgiving now we need to talk about Christmas. We need to do the same thing at Christmas it’s not to be a small family, a nuclear family Christmas, not inviting the rest of the family over.” He says with President-elect Biden talking 100 days of masking and vaccine being distributed by the spring we could see significant changes.
MPTC Restrictions For COVID Extended
Moraine Park Technical College has extended both their public access restrictions and mask-wearing requirements for all campuses-which will remain in effect indefinitely-but least through next June 30th. The College will remain closed to the general public, and masks will continue to be required on all campuses even if the statewide mandate ends. MPTC President Bonnie Baerwald says they hope by limiting the number of people on their campuses, they can ensure a successful spring 2021 semester for their students and staff including the ability to continue in-person classes and to hold their annual commencement ceremony in Fond du Lac. The spring 2021 semester will be as scheduled on Monday, January 25th with classes continuing to be offered in face-to-face, virtual and online formats.
