Sports for December 11th

The Packers continue to practice in preparation for Sunday’s game with the Lions in Detroit.  The Packers activated running back A.J. Diillon from the Reserve/COVD list. Also, tight end Mercedes Lewis missed practice again on Thursday because of a knee injury as did tight end Jace Sternberger, who suffered a concussion against the Eagles last Sunday.  Wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown was back on the practice seeing limited action after going through concussion-protocol. He also is nursing a knee injury.. The Lions listed several players who did not practice on Thursday.   Wide receiver Kenny Golladay (hip), offensive lineman Tyrell Crosby (ankle) and CB Jeff Okudah (groin) did not practice.  Sunday’s kickoff is at 3:25 with the pregame starting at 1:00 and can be heard on FM102.3, The Bug.

In the Thursday Night Football the Rams won at home over the New England Patriots 24-3. L.A.’s defense, led by Aaron Donald and Kenny Young, dominated the Patriots Cam Newton,  who completed just 9 of 16 passes for 119 yards and was picked off once.  He was replaced by Jarrett Stidham who went 5 for 7 for 27 yards.  Rams quarterback Jared Goff went 16 of 25 for 137 yards, one touchdown along with a pick. Running back Cam Akers pounded out 171 yards on 29 carries for the Rams as they moved to 9-4, a game ahead of the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC West.  The Patriots fall to third place in the AFC East at 6-7.
