The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported 57 more deaths due to COVID-19 Thursday pushing the death toll to 3,944 since the first deaths in March. Twenty-five counties recorded new deaths yesterday. The state also reported 4,034 new cases or 32 percent of the 12,555 test results that came back. New coronavirus cases were reported in all 72 of the state’s counties. State health officials say the state should receive 49,725 doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine this month, which will be given first to health care workers and nursing home residents. The state will receive a similar amount for the second shot needed to complete the inoculation.
Winnebago County will surpass 14,000 total COVID-19 cases this weekend. It reported 80 new cases and 3 more deaths Thursday to put its total cases at 13,956 with 136 deaths. Fond du Lac County recorded 73 new cases and 3 more deaths to push its total cases to 9,351 with 57 deaths. Dodge County reported 161 new cases to give it 9,383 total cases with 87 deaths. Nine new cases were reported in Green Lake County, which has 1,249 total cases and 8 deaths. Two more cases in Marquette County put its total cases at 1,085 with 15 deaths. Waupaca County recorded 11 new COVID cases to give it 3,938 with 129 deaths. The Waushara County Health Department reported 6 new cases, which means it has had 1,803 totals cases and 13 deaths since the pandemic began.
