Elf Off The Shelf

The Ripon Senior Activity Center has its own version of the Elf on a Shelf and he gets around. Center Executive Director Noreen Johnson says they realize a lot of people they usually see at the center aren’t out and about because of the pandemic so the Elf and his spontaneous selfies on their Facebook page are a way to bring people a little Christmas cheer during the season. “It’s just something Christmassy we just figured that we can’t get out and see everybody and people can’t get into see us as much as we like. We hope that it brings a little bit of joy to your life with a little bit of goofiness.” The seniors’ elf has been spotted around City Hall including sitting in the Mayor’s spot in the Council Chambers, at the Chamber of Commerce offices, saluting veterans and the flag on Pearl Harbor Day, playing pool and even visiting with E.T.
