A source with knowledge on the matter says that there will “most likely” be fans for the last two December games at Lambeau Field.  The source didn’t specify how many people would be able to attend those games, if the team decides to allow fans inside Lambeau. The final two home games in December are scheduled for the evenings of Saturday, December 19 and Sunday, December 27. A final decision on the matter hasn’t been officially announced, and the team is currently still evaluating the process.  The team has also not given a timeline on when any announcement on the matter may be made.  During the previous two home games, the team had been testing COVID-19 protocols at Lambeau in case fans would be allowed at any future home games.  The protocol testing was done by about 500 people, and the group was made up of only Packers employees and their immediate household family members. No one had been in attendance of any previous Packers home games this season.  The team had announced on October 6 there would be no fans at home games for an indefinite amount of time due to the pandemic. The team then followed up on November 4, and reiterated the indefinite hold on fans. f ticketed fans will be able to attend games later this season, season ticket holders who opted in for the chance to buy tickets will receive instructions about the ticket-purchasing process at a later date.

There were two games in the NFL on Monday.  In the first game,  Washington ended Pittsburgh’s unbeaten season with a 23-17 upset victory on the road.   The Steelers led 14-3 at the end of the first half but Washington quarterback Alex Smith led the way back.  It was still 14-10 entering the fourth quarter but Washington outscored  Pittsburgh 13-3 for the win.  The Steelers Ben Roethlisberger was picked off on Pittsburgh’s final possession to seal the win.  Big Ben was 33 of 53 for 305 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.  The Steelers only managed 21 yards on the ground on 14 attempts.   Smith was 31 of 46 for 296 yards and one touchdown.   Washington  managed only 45 yards on the ground.    With the win, Washington moves 5-7 and a first-place tie with the Giants in the NFC East while the Steelers drop to 11-1 but still lead the AFC North by two games over the Browns.

In the second game, Buffalo  dominated the San Francisco 49ers,  34-24.  The 49ers led 7-0 at the end of the first quarter before Bills quarterback Josh Allen got the offense going in the second quarter, taking Buffalo to 17-7 halftime lead.  Allen was 32 of 40 for 375 yards and four touchdowns to four different receivers.  San Francisco’s Nick Mullens was 26 of 39 for 316 yards, three touchdowns but was picked off twice.  The Bills improve to 9-3 in the AFC East, one game ahead of Miami while the 49ers drop to last place in the NFC West at 5-7.
