Wisconsin set new daily records Tuesday for the number of deaths and test results for COVID-19. The 92 people that died topped the previous record of 66 set just a week ago and brought the death toll since the pandemic began to 2,741 people. State Department of Health Services officials say 22,743 test results were received yesterday, also a new record. Of that 31 percent or 7,090 test results came back positive for the virus. The state also set a daily record for the number of people hospitalized in a 24-hour period at 318, which brought the total number of current hospitalizations due to COVID to 2,277 with 431 patients in ICU.
Winnebago County reported 90 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday and 2 more deaths to put its totals at 11,970 cases and 93 deaths. Fond du Lac County recorded 69 new cases to give it 7,516 total cases with 33 deaths. Dodge County had 131 new cases and now has 6,909 total cases with 54 deaths. Green Lake County had 1 new COVID case and 1 new death to up its total cases to 1,063 and its death toll to 5 people. Three new cases were recorded in Marquette County, which has 935 total cases and 7 deaths. Waupaca County reported 5 new cases and 2 new deaths to push its total cases to 3,482 and its death toll to 102 people. The Waushara County Health Department recorded 16 new cases and 1 new death to bring its total cases to 1,617 with 7 deaths since the health crisis began.
