Dickens Holiday Parade And Living Windows Cancelled
16 November 2020 News
Ripon’s Dickens of a Christmas will go on next month, but without two of its bigger attractions. The Chamber’s Board of Directors concluded with the COVID-19 outbreak it wouldn’t be safe to stage the Dicken’s Holiday Parade and Living Windows. Chamber Executive Director Jason Mansmith says it was a “super difficult” decision, but one made in the best interest of the community. “Some of our bigger events that garner anywhere from between hundreds and thousands of people in a small area of three or four blocks in downtown we decided against that this year just due to the safety of our community.” He says Dickens of a Christmas will still feature limited events that have been transferred to an online format, drive-thru events, and other highlights that will be announced. He urges residents to watch their website or Facebook page for updates on Dickens of a Christmas.
