The state’s Department of Health Services says 6,058 more people tested positive for COVID-19 Sunday or 33.7 percent of the 17,977 test results that came back. Since the first tests in early February 240,075 people in the state have tested positive for the virus and 69,594 of those cases are still active. Twelve more people died yesterday bringing the death toll to 2,637 people. According to the CDC as of Friday, COVID-19 has killed more people in Wisconsin in less than 8 months than stroke, Alzheimer disease, diabetes, the flu and pneumonia, and self-harm killed in all of 2018.
Winnebago County reported 95 new COVID-19 cases Sunday to put its total cases at 11,781 with 91 deaths. The state reports Fond du Lac County had 21 new cases yesterday to move it to 7,001 total cases with 34 deaths. Dodge County had 153 new cases and has had 6,662 total cases with 53 deaths. Twelve new cases were recorded in Green Lake County, which puts its total cases at 1,048 with 4 deaths. Twenty-eight new cases were reported in Marquette County and it now has 925 totals cases and 7 deaths. Waupaca County entered the weekend with 3,291 total cases and 95 deaths. Waushara County recorded 16 new cases yesterday to bring its total cases to 1,594 with 6 deaths since the health crisis began.
