Wisconsin set new daily records yesterday for the number of new cases, deaths, and hospitalizations due to COVID-19. According to the Department of Health Services 7,073 or 35.3 percent of the 19,999 test results came back positive for the coronavirus. Meanwhile there were 66 deaths bringing the death toll since the pandemic began to 2,395 people. The average over the seven days for the number of deaths is 42, which is an all-time high. The number of hospitalizations was 291 for Tuesday with 2,070 people currently hospitalized due to COVID and 418 of those patients in ICU, which is also a record.

Winnebago County reported 117 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday putting its total cases at 10,770 and 1 new death brought that toll to 83 people. Ninety-four new cases were reported in Fond du Lac County and 1 new death to put its total cases at 6,465 with 29 deaths. Dodge County recorded 72 new cases to give it 5,912 with 46 deaths.  Green Lake County had 25 new cases to give it 953 total cases with 4 deaths. Fourteen new cases were recorded in Marquette County, which has 856 total cases with 6 deaths. Four new deaths were reported in Waupaca County Tuesday putting the county’s death toll due to COVID at 78 people with 3,174 total cases. The Waushara County Health Department recorded 19 new COVID cases and 1 new death to give it 1,508 total cases and 6 deaths since the health crisis began.
