Lost Hikers Found Cold Wet But Uninjured

Four lost hikers from Illinois were cold and wet, but injured when they were found in the Kettle Moraine State Forest Sunday evening. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials say one of the hikers called 911 shortly after 3:30 Sunday afternoon to say they were lost in the State Forest southwest of Mauthe Lake. They had started hiking on the Ice Age Trail near Highway 28 in Washington County around 11 am, but got lost north of Youth Camp road in Fond du Lac County. They were located about 5 pm and brought back to the Mauthe Lake boat landing shortly after 6:30. The four hikers ranged in age from 55 to 65. The group included three men and a woman. They were evaluated by Kewaskum and Campbellsport Ambulances and released.
