State health officials reported nearly 3,500 new COVID-19 cases and 16 deaths Sunday. But the 3,493 new cases out of 18,062 test results was 19.3 percent, which was lower than the 7 day positivity rate of 29.6 percent. The 16 deaths put the death toll at 2,047 persons, but the death rate for all known cases dropped slightly from 0.9 percent to 0.89 percent. During the past seven days the state had been averaging 38 deaths a day. Meanwhile 123 more people were hospitalized bringing the total number of hospitalizations to 1,534 with 347 patients in ICU.
Winnebago County reported 115 new COVID-19 cases Sunday bringing its total cases to 9,438 with 67 deaths. Fond du Lac County reported 2 more deaths last Friday and 149 new cases entering the weekend with 4,952 cases and 22 deaths. Dodge County had 110 new cases Friday putting its total cases at 4,453 with 28 deaths. Green Lake County had 28 new cases yesterday to give it 1,058 cases with 6 deaths. Thirty-seven new cases in Marquette County put its total cases at 705 with 2 deaths. Waupaca County went into the weekend with 2,598 COVID cases and 54 deaths. The Waushara County Health Department reported 16 new cases last Friday to give it 1,065 total cases and 5 deaths heading into the weekend and since the health crisis began.
