State health officials reported 51 more COVID-19 deaths and 4,870 new cases Thursday. The new cases leave Wisconsin four shy of 215,000 total cases since testing began February 5th and were 37 percent of the 13,174 test results that came back yesterday. New cases were reported in all 72 counties. Meanwhile the death toll reached 1,948 people and will likely surpass 2,000 this weekend. The state also saw 193 more people hospitalized bringing that total to 1,453 with 330 patients in intensive care.

Winnebago County will move past 9,000 total COVID-19 cases by the end of the day. The 161 new cases it reported Thursday gave it 8,960 total cases with 62 deaths.  Fond du Lac County recorded 149 new cases to put its total cases at 4,803 and 1 new death pushed that total to 20. Dodge County had 185 new cases to give it 4,343 total cases with 27 deaths.  Sixteen new cases were reported in Green Lake County, which has 767 total cases and 3 deaths. A dozen new cases in Marquette County bring its total cases to 628 with 2 deaths. Waupaca County recorded 60 new COVID cases and 2 more death, which gives it 2,571 total cases and 54 deaths.  The Waushara County Health Department reported 26 new cases Thursday and now has had 1,051 total cases and 5 deaths since the pandemic began.
