New daily records were set in Wisconsin Tuesday for the number of COVID-19 cases and deaths in a day resulting from the coronavirus. The state’s Department of Health Services says 5,262 of the 16,528 new tests or 31.8 percent of the tests came back positive for the virus. In addition 64 more people died from COVID putting the death toll since the pandemic began in the state at 1,852 people. A total of 206,311 people have been infected since testing began in February. The state also reported 220 more people were hospitalized.
Winnebago County Tuesday reported 173 new COVID-19 cases and 3 more deaths pushing its total cases to 8,726 and 59 deaths. Fond du Lac County recorded 88 new cases putting its total cases at 4,513 with 19 deaths. Dodge County eclipsed 4,000 total cases with 106 new cases giving it 4,051 total cases with 27 deaths. Sixteen new cases were reported in Green Lake County, which now has 741 total cases and 1 additional death put that toll at 3 people. Five more cases were recorded in Marquette County where there have been 607 total cases and 2 deaths. Waupaca County reported 32 new COVID cases and 3 more deaths to put its total cases at 2,452 with 41 deaths. The Waushara County Health Department says the county has now topped 1,000 total cases with 29 new cases putting its total cases at 1,009 with 5 deaths since the health crisis began.
