Ignoring Quarantine Risky
Governor Tony Evers issued a new public health emergency and masking order Tuesday claiming cases of COVID-19 in the state are growing at a near “exponential rate.” Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says the problem is that people who are sick or are supposed to be in quarantine are still going out in public and attending social functions. She says if you have been exposed to someone with the virus you are likely to develop it yourself. “It is very infectious and your chances of now getting it if you were exposed are likely. If you were exposed you should be quarantining at home and we are finding that people are not following that.” She says people should be wearing masks out in public, practice social distancing, frequently wash their hands, and stay at home if they are sick.
