State health officials say Wisconsin set a one-day record for the number of residents that tested positive for the COVID-19 virus with 2,034 Thursday. That eclipsed the old record by 452 cases and was 17.8 percent of the 11,445 test results that came back. All but five of the state’s 72 counties saw new cases yesterday. A total of 94,746 people have tested positive for the coronavirus in the state since early February. The state also reported 3 more deaths raising that total to 1,231 deaths or 1.3 percent of all known cases.

Winnebago County continues to see big numbers of new COVID-19 cases with 84 new cases Thursday bringing its total case number to 2,252 with 22 deaths. Fond du Lac County reported 40 new cases and now has 1,582 total cases and 12 deaths. Thirty-five new cases were reported in Dodge County, which has had 1,512 total cases with 9 deaths. Four new cases in Green Lake County give it 154 cases.  A dozen new cases in Marquette County give it 164 total cases with 1 death. Waupaca County Public Health reported 28 new cases bringing its total cases to 871 cases with 19 deaths. Waushara County recorded 8 new cases of COVID yesterday which puts its total cases since the health crisis began at 257 cases with 2 deaths.
