The state’s Department of Health Services says another 1,408 people tested positive for COVID-19 Wednesday. Just over 11.5 percent of the 12,196 test results that came back tested positive for the virus. Sixty-seven of the state’s 72 counties reported new cases. There were also 8 deaths raising the death toll since early February to 1,228 people. The total number of cases since the pandemic began in Wisconsin is now at 92,712 with 80,627 people who are considered recovered.
Winnebago County reported 68 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday giving it a total of 2,168 cases with 22 deaths. Fond du Lac County recorded 52 new cases giving it a total of 1,542 cases with 12 deaths. Dodge County has 1 new death due to the coronavirus raising that toll to 9 deaths and 18 new cases give it a total of 1,477 cases. Four new cases in Green Lake County give it 150 total cases. Five new cases in Marquette County puts its total cases at 152 with 1 death. Waupaca County Public Health reports 8 new cases and 1 new death putting its total cases at 843 and the number of deaths at 19. Three new cases of COVID were reported in Waushara County yesterday putting its total cases since the health crisis began at 249 with 2 deaths.
