State health officials got back about 3,500 fewer coronavirus test results Wednesday compared to the day before and of those 8,376 results 6.5 percent or 545 tested positive for the virus. Since the pandemic began Wisconsin has had 77,129 COVID-19 cases. Twelve more deaths were also reported bringing that toll to 1,142 people. Although there were fewer new cases yesterday 58 of the state’s 72 counties reported new cases.
Winnebago County reported 14 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday putting its total cases at 1,569 cases with 21 deaths. With 12 new cases Dodge County reached 1,200 total cases with 5 deaths. Fond du Lac County reported 181 new cases last week averaging nearly 26 new cases a day, but yesterday only reported 7 new cases giving it a total of 1,176 cases with 10 deaths. Green Lake County has been holding steady with 94 cases while Marquette County had 1 new case giving it 91 totals cases to go with 1 death. Waupaca County now has more than 700 cases. Its 13 new COVID cases yesterday give it 709 total cases with 17 deaths. The Waushara County Health Department reported 1 new case Wednesday giving it 172 total cases and 2 deaths since early February when the outbreak began.
