The Packers held their second day of practice during training camp on Monday. Green Bay saw the return of tight end Jace Sternberger and defensive lineman Treyvon Hester. The two are officially off the COVID reserve list. Long snapper Hunter Bradley and linebacker Greg Robert are the only two left on the list.

Linebacker Christian Kirksey brought defensive energy with the first interception of camp off quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Despite the interception, head coach Matt Lafleur said the tempo is where it needs to be.

“I thought just getting in-and-out of the huddle was day-and-night from a year ago,” LaFleur said. “I have been pretty impressed with their leadership out there.”

The talk during the offseason when it came to the quarterbacks was Green Bay drafting Jordan Love and how that affected Aaron Rodger’s future.  But last year’s backup, Tim Boyle has been one of the most impressive players in the first two practices of training camp so far.

“Truthfully, I always believed I could play in the NFL and I had the talent,” Packers quarterback Tim Boyle said. “I just needed the right kind of motivation.”

The Packers took a chance on Tim Boyle as an undrafted free agent out of Eastern Kentucky in 2018.  Boyle admitted his heart sank a little when the Packers drafted Jordan Love, but says he’s going to approach this season the same as always, doing whatever he can to help the team win. The Packers are set the take the field again in full pads on Tuesday.
