Pursuit Suspect Was Armed

Bond was set at $10,000 cash for a Milwaukee man who led a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy on a high-speed chase that reached 130 miles an hour Monday night. The deputy tried to pull the suspect Demarcus Johnson over for speeding near I-41 and Lost Arrow Road in the Town of Byron. That led to a pursuit that culminated in the City of Fond du Lac where Johnson was arrested at gunpoint. According to the criminal complaint Johnson had a loaded handgun on him and another in the vehicle. Deputies also found a little under a half a pound of marijuana, over $5,600 in cash, and several cell phones in the car as well. Johnson is charged with 3 felonies including felony fleeing, second degree recklessly endangering safety, marijuana trafficking and a misdemeanor for possessing drug paraphernalia.  All four charges carry use of a dangerous weapon enhancers. A preliminary hearing is scheduled next Thursday.
