A 30-year-old Fond du Lac man is facing charges for leading a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy on a chase on County Highway D early Wednesday morning that covered 4.5 miles. The deputy was trying to pull the vehicle over in the Town of Byron for a defective headlight. The deputy was able to get the vehicle’s license plate before cutting off the chase when it entered the City of Fond du Lac. The deputy later located the man walking near the intersection of Pioneer and Military Road where the suspect had crashed his vehicle. The Fond du Lac man is charged with felony fleeing, speeding, operating after suspension, operating with suspended registration, defective headlamp, fail to maintain control, and reckless driving. The time of the incident was 4:15 am.
