State health officials Thursday reported 1,052 new COVID-19 cases or 7.4 percent of the 14,212 test results that came back. It’s the second time in three days Wisconsin reported more than 1,000 new cases in a single day and gives the state 45,899 coronavirus cases since the first was reported in early February. Sixty-two of the state’s 72 counties reported new cases yesterday. There were also 13 more deaths bringing the death toll to 878.
Winnebago County moved past 900 COVID-19 cases Thursday with 15 new cases giving it 901 and the county also reported a death bringing that total to 16. Eight new cases were reported in Dodge County putting its total cases of the virus at 592 cases with 5 deaths. The Fond du Lac County Health Department reported 9 new cases giving it 472 cases with 6 deaths. Green Lake County held steady at 49 cases, and Marquette County had 1 new case bringing its total to 61 cases with 1 death. Waupaca County Public Health Services reported 8 new cases and now has 265 total cases with 14 deaths. Waushara County had 1 new case and has had 58 cases since the pandemic began.
