A day after setting a record for the most positive COVID-19 test results to be returned in a single day at 1,117, Wisconsin dipped to 712 positive tests Wednesday. That was 4.8 percent of the 14,780 test results returned yesterday. Fifty-four of the state’s 72 counties had new cases. Since early February 44,847 residents have tested positive for the coronavirus and another 764,630 negative. Six more people died from the pandemic bringing that toll to 865 since testing began.

Winnebago County reported 8 new COVID-19 tests Wednesday and 1 new death bringing its totals to 884 cases and 15 deaths. Seven new cases were reported in Dodge County giving it 584 total cases and 5 deaths. Fond du Lac County got 5 new cases putting its totals at 463 cases and 6 deaths. Green Lake County had 1 new case giving it 49 cases, and Marquette County got  2 new cases giving it 60 cases and 1 death. Waupaca County Public Health reported 12 new cases bringing its total cases to 257 with 14 deaths, and Waushara County has 3 new cases giving it a total of 60 since the pandemic began.
