Ripon Senior Center Offers What It Can During COVID
The Ripon Senior Activity Center remains closed during the pandemic, but may be open in a limited form for occasional classes and activities. Center Executive Director Noreen Johnson says they had a potluck picnic at Murray Park last Friday, which was different given social distancing. “Everybody brought their own food and we just kind of hung out and it was like are people going to interact or are they kind of going to be standoffish? They kind of all just sat at their own little tables and did talk to each other. But you can’t wear a mask while you’re eating, but it worked out well.” The foot clinics are being held at the Center by appointment and Johnson says they will be offering technology classes arranged by appointment for 1 or 2 people classes. They are also looking at Tai Chi classes with limits of 5 people for social distancing. There are also exercise classes at Murray Park each Tuesday and Thursday morning at 9:15. For more information call the Center at (920) 748-6625.
