Survey Results For Ripon Schools Referendum Released
9 July 2020 News
A survey of Ripon School District residents shows continued support for an operational referendum. The School Board this week reviewed results of a community survey that had 481 respondents. Eighty percent said they definitely or probably support a referendum that provides support for technology, curriculum materials, and facilities maintenance. Seventy percent of a comparison group made up of district residents who aren’t parents of preschool or school-aged students, employees or students said they too would likely support the referendum in November. A proposed referendum that increases taxes toward an endowment fund for Ingalls Field got less support with 52 percent of all respondents and 38.4 percent of the comparison group. District Superintendent Mary Whitrock says she’s pleased with the results of the survey which provides a definitive path for the Board in terms of what the community supports moving forward. November’s referendum would continue the current operational referendum. Complete survey results are available at the School District’s website on the 2020 Referendum page.
