The Ryder Cup set for Whistling Straits in September is moving to September 2021. This according to a report Tuesday night by ESPN.  The PGA of America and European Tour are expected to make the announcement on Wednesday. This move had been speculated for months, as more and more players said they didn’t want to play if fans were not allowed, which seemed very likely.  Fans make the Ryder Cup the event what it is, with raucous crowds making for an electric atmosphere unlike other golf events.

With the Ryder Cup moving to 2021, the Presidents Cup – a similar event featuring the United States against a non-European international team – will move to 2022, and they will alternate from there.

Brewers first-round Draft pick Garrett Mitchell was en route to Milwaukee on Tuesday after tentatively agreeing to terms with the club on a signing bonus.

Mitchell, an outfielder from UCLA who has been playing with Type 1 Diabetes since he was a kid, agreed to sign for right around slot value for the 20th overall pick, according to a source. That figure was set at $3,242,900. The Brewers did not confirm the agreement, which is pending the results of a physical exam.

The Brewers have already confirmed signing their four other selections in the 2020 MLB Draft, which was shortened to five rounds this year. The Brewers could announce the Mitchell signing as early as Wednesday evening, provided there are no surprises in his physical exam.

Meanwhile, left-hander Brent Suter was among the pitchers who faced hitters Tuesday on the fourth day of live batting practice at Miller Park. On Wednesday, players will get their first taste of game action as the Brewers stage the first of a series of controlled scrimmages meant to simulate certain moments in a game.
