Wisconsin Department of Health Services officials reported 10 more COVID-19 deaths Wednesday bringing the death toll to 671 since the outbreak began. Among the new deaths were one each in Calumet, Sheboygan, and Winnebago County. Meanwhile the state received 10,472 test results and 2.72 percent or 285 patients tested positive for the coronavirus. Since the pandemic began Wisconsin has had 21,593 COVID-19 cases.
Winnebago County’s spike in COVID-19 cases continued Wednesday with 26 new cases bringing its total cases to 457 and one new death brought that total to 8. County health officials are attributing the recent increase to young adults gathering after the Safer at Home orders were lifted. Dodge County has 4 additional cases bringing its totals to 410 with 4 deaths. With 4 new cases Fond du Lac County has 250 cases and 6 deaths. Green Lake County remains at 23 cases while Marquette County has 1 new case and now has 7 cases with 1 death. With 3 new cases Waupaca County has 61 cases and 1 death and Waushara County has 13 cases.
