Ripon Police initiated a drug investigation after 7 drug overdoses occurred in the city over a 4 week period. As a result several search warrants were issued including two for residences in Ripon. Officers found evidence of distribution, and possession of drug paraphernalia and narcotics at both locations. Several people were identified as suspects and charges are being referred to the Fond du Lac County District Attorney’s Office. Police Chief Bill Wallner says, “The officers of the City of Ripon Police Department aggressively investigate drug distribution cases. We will pursue any individual that we can show is involved in the sale, distribution, or possession of these dangerous substances in our community.”  The search warrants were based on the investigation of Ripon Police Officers and an investigator from the Lake Winnebago Metropolitan Enforcement Group drug unit. The case remains under investigation.
