Milk House In Town Of Oakfield Destroyed By Fire

Fire destroyed a milk house at N4046 County Road D in Fond du Lac County’s Town of Oakfield early this morning. Sheriff’s officials say the 15 by 30 foot milk house was attached to a barn belonging to property owner Stuart Joas. Fire departments from Oakfield, Lamartine, and the Town of Fond du Lac were able to extinguish the blaze before it spread to the barn. No livestock were injured. The milk house contained milking equipment, which was also destroyed by the fire. The fire is believed to have been started by an outdoor wood-burning stove. The time of the fire call was 3:43 a.m.
