State GOP Leaders File Lawsuit Against Safer At Home Extension
State Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and State Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald have filed a lawsuit against Governor Tony Evers extension of the Safer at Home order. The Governor’s extension would last until May 26th. The lawsuit asks the State Supreme Court to issue an order temporarily enjoining enforcement of the Emergency Order extension. Vos and Fitzgerald contend the order was improperly enacted and exceeds the Department of Health Service’s authority. The DHS has until next Tuesday to respond to the lawsuit and the petitioners will then be able to respond by April 30th. Governor Evers calls the lawsuit a “power grab.”
