(Ripon Mayor-elect Ted Grant)
Ripon businessman Ted Grant is Ripon’s next Mayor. He defeated local attorney and Ripon City Alderman Doug Iverson in the spring election receiving 1,024 votes to Iverson’s 544. John Splitt (343 votes) is returning to the Common Council in District 1. Representing a portion of District 3 is David Gallops and District 4 Jolene Schatzinger (406 votes). A 4-year seat in District 2 was won by write-in candidate Paige Kane who got 65 of 75 votes cast for the seat. A 2-year seat for District 2 will be represented by Benjamin Morrison (214 votes).
Ray Radis won the Mayor’s race in Green Lake getting 247 votes to defeat incumbent Mayor Jon McConnell who collected 111 votes. Meanwhile Chris Foos got 61 votes to Darin Green’s 43 and will represent a portion of District 1 on the Green Lake City Council.
Waupun Mayor Julie Nickel will keep her seat. She received 1,754 votes to challenger Jay Graff’s 323 votes.
In the Ripon School Board race incumbents Thomas Stellmacher (1157 votes) and Josh Rieder won election. David Scott will join them on the board. He was a write in candidate, but got 235 votes to the 117 Melissa Wipijewski got in her write-in campaign for the board.
In a Waupun School Board race Stephen Chene (1622 votes) and incumbent Jenny Patrykus (2154 votes) won election. Incumbent Dylan Weber finished out of the running (1338 votes).
Two incumbents Fond du Lac County Board of Supervisors lost to challengers in the Spring Election. Martin Schroeder lost a narrow race to challenger Brooke Hill in the 16th District. Hill got 348 votes to Schroeder’s 340. Former County Board Supervisor Thomas Dornbrook defeated incumbent Joseph Koch in the 9th District 568 to 499 votes. Meanwhile Incumbent 5th District Supervisor Sarah Everson held off a challenge from Eldorado Town Chairman Gary Miller defeating Miller with 662 votes to Miller’s 569.
In the race for two trustee seats on the Brandon Village Board Gary Henker with 124 votes and Mark Horvath with 103 votes won election. Rick Peterson finished with 98 votes and Jeremiah Storer with 65.
Elsewhere Matt Mugerauer, Lynnsey Erickson and Michael Ford won election to the Oshkosh City Council. Barbara Herzog and Bob Poeschl won seats on the Oshkosh School Board. Jake Woodford defeated Jim Clemons in the Appleton Mayor’s race.
