89 Cases Of COVID 19 In The State Now

18 March 2020 News

Following the President’s lead, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers Tuesday directed the state’s Department of Health Services to issue an order prohibiting mass gatherings of 10 or more people. The order closes bars and restaurants with exceptions for take-out or delivery. You can see a copy of the order in our story at Hometown Broadcasting.com. There are a total of 89 cases in the state now. The state is also moving to tiered testing for COVID-19 with more requests for testing than the state lab is able to handle. Priority testing will be given for critically-ill patients and hospitalized patients who had exposure to the virus or traveled to a “hot spot” area for it. The next level of testing will be for hospitalized health care workers and those hospitalized with unexplained fever and symptoms of lower respiratory tract illness. Test requests that don’t meet the criteria will be sent to others labs in the state and country for testing.
