MARSHALL 59, BERLIN 32-MARSHALL – The Cardinals outscored the Indians 27-9 on 3-point baskets and cruised to the win. Laura Nickel led Marshall with 22 points, while Anna Lutz and Abby Ward added 16 and 13 points, respectively. Berlin was led by Myah Jodarski with eight points.

Lydia Nelson paced NEW Lutheran with 12 points, while Bailey Scholz added nine.

State Wrestling Championship
Winneconne sophomore Caleb Meunier experienced the atmosphere of championship Saturday at the WIAA state wrestling tournament last season but failed to complete the task. After finishing second at the Division 2 106-pound weight class as a sophomore, Meunier finished the job this time around. He pinned Josh Frye of Viroqua in 3:29 to win the title at 113.

Ripon College senior Trent Jones has been named Midwest Conference Player of the Year, as released Thursday by the conference office. That marks the sixth time this decade, and 10th time in school history, that a Ripon College men’s basketball player has received that honor. Jones is the lone Ripon player to make this year’s All-Conference team, earning First Team recognition.
