Six Killed In Shootings At MillerCoors Campus In Milwaukee

27 February 2020 News

A workplace shooting that killed 6 people in Milwaukee Wednesday has stunned the state. A 51-year-old Milwaukee man shot and killed five employees at the MillerCoors campus before turning the gun on himself. Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales says the man worked at MillerCoors.  In a statement Governor Tony Evers said, “Our hearts go out to the families of those whose lives were senselessly taken today.”  U.S. Senator Ron Johnson said something similar and thanked the first responders who worked the scene. And State Attorney General Josh Kaul called it “gut-wrenching.” Their complete statements follow.

Governor Tony Evers:

“I want to say thank you to the folks at Molson Coors and our first responders who acted quickly to contain the situation and get folks and students in the nearby areas to safety. We are still learning more details about what happened at Molson Coors earlier today. What we do know, though, is that more lives were lost in a mass shooting in Wisconsin. Our hearts go out to the families of those whose lives were senselessly taken today, all of the folks and workers at Molson Coors, and the entire Milwaukee community as we grapple with yet another act of gun violence that will have long-lasting consequences for this community and our state.”

U.S. Senator Ron Johnson:

“We are heartbroken by the senseless killings in Milwaukee today. Thanks to the first responders who bravely put themselves in harm’s way.  Our condolences go out to everyone in the community affected by today’s horrific events.”

State Attorney General Josh Kaul:

“This is gut-wrenching. My heart goes out to Molson Coors employees, their families, and the entire Milwaukee community. The DOJ Division of Criminal Investigation is on the scene and will continue assisting local law enforcement with whatever they need.”
