The Ripon Common Council Monday night was updated on the effort to replace the culvert for the Jackson Street stream crossing. TIF District #12 had been amended so money from it could pay the roughly $750,000 it would cost for that project. But City Administrator Lori Rich says they only have about $300,000 in TIF monies available for the project so they will have to wait a few more years. Alderperson Doug Iverson mentioned there had been some talk about a study for all the culvert stream crossings in the city that might be something to consider before the Jackson Street Project. Public Works Director Mike Ehrenberg said such a study would cost from $15,000 to $20,000. Mayor Gary Will says they know where the money for the Jackson Street stream crossing project will come from, but that won’t be the case for others. The Council also approved the appointment of David Soda to the Park and Recreation Committee for a 4-year term.
