Oshkosh Man Ordered To Stand Trial For Former Police Captain’s Murder

The 28-year-old Oshkosh man suspected of murdering a retired Oshkosh Police Captain has been bound over for trial. Ian Suzuki waived his preliminary hearing in Winnebago County court yesterday. He will be arraigned on March 9th. Charges against him stem from the stabbing death of 67-year-old Jay Puestohl on February 2nd. Suzuki was a guest in his mother’s home and had a history of mental health issues. When Puestohl tried to kick him out of the home the two got into a fight. Suzuki went to the kitchen and got a knife and allegedly stabbed Puestohl in the neck.
