Fatal School Bus Accident In Waushara County

Waushara County Sheriff’s officials say a 6-year-old kindergartner was killed and her four-year-old sister was injured when they were hit by a pickup truck as they were boarding a school bus Monday morning on State Highway 73 in the Town of Oasis. The 6-year-old died at the scene. The 4-year-old, who is in 4-K, was taken to ThedaCare Medical Center in Wild Rose was treated and released. Tri-County Area Schools District Administrator Anthony Marinack says the children were waiting to board the bus when the truck came around the bus. It was extremely foggy in the area at the time. Counselors are being made available to district students and staff to help them cope with the tragedy.
