Oshkosh Man Charged For Allegedly Killing Former Police Captain

7 February 2020 News

The 28-year-old Oshkosh man suspected of murdering a retired Oshkosh Police Captain has been charged. Bond was set at $500,000 cash when Ian Suzuki made his initial appearance in Winnebago County court Thursday on charges stemming from the stabbing death of 67-year-old Jay Puestohl. According to the criminal complaint Suzuki was a guest in the home and had a history of mental health issues. When Puestohl tried to kick him out of the home in the 1200 block of Waugoo Avenue last Sunday the two got in a fight. Suzuki went to the kitchen and got a knife and allegedly stabbed Puestohl in the neck.  A preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 17th.
