Oshkosh Police say the 67-year-old Oshkosh man who died after being stabbed over the weekend was one of their own. Jay Puestohl had 32 years in with the department when he retired as Captain of the Investigative Services Bureau in 2008. The Fond du Lac County Medical Examiner’s Office performed an autopsy on Monday. Police were called to a residence in the 1200 block of Waugoo Avenue Sunday afternoon for a stabbing. When they arrived they found Puestohl with a stab wound from a knife. He was taken to a hospital where he died. Officers took a 28-year-old Oshkosh man into custody on a first degree intentional homicide charge. A 63-year-old woman at the residence also suffered minor injuries. Police say the three knew each other and the stabbing was an isolated incident.
