FDL Man Found Guilty Of Endangering Safety During Shooting

30 January 2020 News

A Fond du Lac County jury Wednesday found a 26-year-old Fond du Lac man guilty of shooting another man in the leg, but not of trying to murder him. The jury found Mohamed Elmhdati not guilty of attempted first degree intentional homicide and armed robbery, but guilty of six other charges including two counts of first degree recklessly endangering safety. He will be sentenced on April 15th.  Charges stemmed from an incident in Fond du Lac last February 26th when he shot a man in the leg with a handgun over a drug dispute.  According to the criminal complaint Elmhdati shot the man on a street in front of the man’s 5-year-old daughter. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment. The verdict wrapped up a three-day jury trial.
